PEARCY -- Lake Hamilton High School graduate Jacob Crumpler was awarded a $5,000 Entergy Community Power Scholarship for his volunteerism and academic success.
Crumpler plans to attend Ecclesia College and major in Kinesiology. He is the son of Jimmy and Tiffany Crumpler. Jimmy Crumpler is a journeyman serviceman with Entergy Arkansas.
Entergy annually selects four community-minded Arkansas high schools students from families of employees for the honor. The other 2015 recipients are Elizabeth Butler, Russellville High School; Grant Gebhardt, Russellville High School; and Ethan Wilson, Mountain View High School.
"The future is so bright for these leaders," said Hugh McDonald, president and CEO of Entergy Arkansas Inc. "This year's recipients share exemplary talent, brains and caring for others. We invest in them with these scholarships in order to power the future generation, and, we're happy to say they all plan to further their education here in Arkansas."
Supporting educational opportunities and recognizing volunteerism through the Community Power Scholarships program helps enhance Entergy's commitment to improving communities by helping prepare young people to be effective contributors to their communities, both through employment and volunteer activities. The program is aligned with Entergy's ongoing initiative to develop a future workforce.
