School news appreciated

Dear editor:

I would like to thank The Sentinel-Record for its continuing coverage of school news. It has been great to be updated on the accomplishments of our students in Garland County. I would like to suggest that it be an ongoing section of the newspaper throughout the year and not just at the end of the school year.

In regards to the "diatribes," may I suggest the following: as Saturday gives coverage of church news, etc., Monday's smaller newspaper devote a page to the "diatribes" as they are being called. The variety of "religious" ideas and attitudes, with or without substantiation, is getting to be a bit much intermingled with other opinions of other subjects.

With respect to the Confederate flag, like it or not, it is a part of our nation's history. So as a historical artifact, place it in the history museums so that it can be honored by those who honor it and ignored by those who otherwise don't care or are offended.
