The late Charles Michael "Mickey" Bearden opened Mickey's BBQ in October 1989. Mickey's has been on its little corner of Park Avenue and Gorge Road ever since.

"As you drive down the tree-shaded hillside road, you get a great smokey smell coming from Mickey's smoke stack," the press release said. "It will start your tummy to tingling for some 'boot kicking' barbecue."

All the side dishes are made right there. The crew works hard to serve the "best of the best."

"Mickey received many awards for his hard work and dedication for putting out some of the best barbecue around and also for all his contributions and dedication to society and people as a whole," the release said. "So come see us."
