The idea war

Dear editor:

Terror in itself is an idea. A terrorist is a person who carries out that act. We've had terrorists of all faiths. It's not just Muslims.

But when you declare war on an idea like the United States likes to do, it seems like we declare war on everything down to Christmas according to Fox News ... you can expect backlash.

The Oklahoma City bombing was a Christian terrorist attack, as was the an Olympic Park bombing. That killed a lot of men, women and children.

Now who here remembers the movie "Red Dawn?" An '80s Cold War classic. You remember what they called the kids on that movie? Terrorists, even though they were on American soil, their soil. So step back and think about that. And then think about our troops sitting in the Middle East in their soil calling them terrorist ... yeah wouldn't make you feel good when all you want is for them to leave. Our support of Israel and continued presence in the region is what is causing the issue, not a religion. And when you declare war on something and continue to do it, don't be shocked when that war finally comes knocking on your front door on your property.

It's time to leave the region and let Israel stand on its own and what happens, happens.
