Culinary District celebrates six years in Hot Springs

Celebrating its sixth year in Hot Springs, the Culinary District is a shop for home cooking enthusiasts and professional chefs. It is open to the public and offers commercial quality kitchen small wares, knives, tools, cookware, bake ware, chef clothing, food preparation equipment and appliances. It stocks storage containers and carts used in restaurant kitchens.

Many of these items developed for the restaurant industry are preferred in home kitchens. "Everyone in Hot Springs enjoys shopping in the store for a selection of interesting specialty food, baking ingredients, spices, sauces, oils, vinegars and pastas. Culinary District also offers cooking classes, and they sell home and kitchen gifts, baskets and gift cards," according to the release.

The Culinary District is owned by Surfas Restaurant Supply which has served the culinary professionals in Los Angeles since 1937. "In addition to the products they stock, Surfas is known for excellence in commercial food service design and installation. They have been very active within Arkansas working on projects in Hot Springs and Little Rock. From small Mom and Pop restaurants, to the development of large food feeding facilities, they do it all. Culinary District is the only commercial restaurant supply dealer store in the Hot Springs area," the release continued. Thousands of items are stocked in the showroom located in the historic 1920 Hamp Williams Building directly across from the Garland County Courthouse. Look for the black and white striped awnings. There is parking in the lot behind the building which is entered off Hawthorne Street.
