Man charged with criminal mischief

A local man was arrested Sunday for allegedly hitting a victim's vehicle with a metal pipe in May.

Jesus Alejandro Rodriguez, 22, who listed a Lorado Loop address, was charged with first-degree criminal mischief, a misdemeanor punishable by up to a year in jail. He was taken into custody shortly after 1 p.m. and later released on a $1,000 bond. Rodriguez is due in Garland County District Court on Aug. 4

According to the affidavit, an employee at Taco Mama, 1209 Malvern Ave., was outside the restaurant on May 26 when Rodriguez drove into the lot. Rodriguez allegedly stated, "Come on, let's go. I will f - - - you up," to the victim. When the victim stated he was working, Rodriguez pulled around the building.

The victim stated he walked to the front of his vehicle when Rodriguez pulled up to him and exited his own vehicle. Rodriguez had a metal pipe in his hand and approached the victim, stating, "Come on, I will beat your a - - ." He allegedly struck the front of the victim's truck with the pipe and caused damage to the hood, fender and front grill.

ā€¢ A 45-year-old man first accused of criminal mischief was arrested early Saturday and charged with possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor punishable by up to a year in jail.

Holt

Stanley Lynn Holt, who listed an Albert Pike Road address, was taken into custody shortly after 2 a.m. and later released on a $1,000 bond. He is due in district court on Aug. 4.

At 2 a.m. Saturday, Officer Plummer responded to Boot Scooters, 421 Broadway St., in reference to criminal mischief. Holt was identified as the suspect and as Plummer called out to him, Holt continued to walk away and toss an unknown object between vehicles in the area.

According to the affidavit, when Plummer asked what he threw down, Holt stated, "Nothing, I was digging for my phone." Plummer observed Holt to have a strong odor of marijuana and intoxicants about his person, and noticed his speech was slurred. The officer located a bag that contained suspected marijuana in the area Holt had tossed the unknown object. Holt was then placed into custody.

ā€¢ A Cash Saver employee was allegedly threatened by a suspect who was arrested Saturday for shoplifting.

Terrell

Michael Wayne Terrell, 33, who listed a Morrison Avenue address, was charged with terroristic threatening, a misdemeanor punishable by up to a year in jail, and shoplifting. He remained in custody Monday in lieu of bonds totaling $9,500 and is due in district court on Aug. 4.

A manager at Cash Saver, 800 Malvern Ave., observed a suspect, identified as Terrell, leave the store with items without paying. According to the affidavit, the manager and another employee chased Terrell across Malvern Avenue and the suspect threw the items into a wooded area.

When the manager approached Terrell, the suspect stated, "I'm going to knock your head off, or I'm going to kill you." Terrell was later taken into custody and again yelled at the manager and stated he would "see him again."

ā€¢ After switching price tags on merchandise, a 29-year-old Malvern woman was arrested Friday night on a theft charge.

Corella

Manuela Porchas Corella was charged with theft of property, a misdemeanor punishable by up to a year in jail. She was later released on a $1,000 bond and is due in district court on Aug. 4.

On Friday, a witness at Wal-Mart, 1601 Albert Pike Road, observed Corella in the crafts section remove price tags from several shirts.

According to the report, Corella placed the tags on clothing with a higher value. She then proceeded to the self-check out area and paid for the items with the incorrect tags. Corella began to exit the store without attempting to pay the correct price and was approached by an employee about her actions.
