Healthy Cooking on making cold lunch plate

Union Missionary Baptist Church, in partnership with the Oaklawn Center on Aging, a program of The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, Reynolds Institute on Aging and the Arkansas Aging Initiative, Garland County Library and CHI St. Vincent Hot Springs Senior Center will offer Healthy Cooking at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at 217 Gulpha. Educational topic will be "The Importance of Goal Setting and Meal Planning."

Guest chef Al Schaffer will feature a cold lunch plate, using seasonal vegetables. He will give instructions on how to prepare the menu.

Lunch will be served free of charge. Reservations are required to attend. Please call Oaklawn Center on Aging, 623-0020, to make a reservation.

All participants will receive the recipes for the meal. The program is free to the community.

Spiritual discussion on dreams held Saturday

Spiritual Wisdom on Dreams, a free spiritual discussion to be held from 1-2:30 p.m. Saturday at Garland County Library, 1427 Malvern Ave., can help people discover what they need to know to get along in this life. Learn how to remember and interpret dreams, unite with a departed loved one, get practical help in everyday life and grow spiritually with the light and sound.

Attendees will receive the free booklet, "Spiritual Wisdom on Dreams." For information, call 877-401-0016.

AARP driver safety class at St. Vincent HS

An AARP Smart Driver course will be sponsored by CHI St. Vincent Hot Springs from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Aug. 6. Qualified graduates are eligible for an auto insurance discount.

There is a $15 fee for AARP members and $20 fee for nonmembers to cover course materials. Bring your driver's license and, if applicable, AARP membership card. Call 622-1033 to enroll.
