Town ignores citizens

Dear editor:

This summer I've been looking for things to do with my daughter, and besides our local library, there isn't much in Hot Springs. I've had to leave Hot Springs and go to other towns.

I'm very disappointed in Hot Springs. Look at Benton, they have a free sprinkle park that my daughter loved, they also had a skate board park that wasn't in the bad part of town. It was all well lit and security was great and friendly. Also, the shopping gave us more choices then Wal-Mart and as far as food ... well, didn't have 100 subways, 10 McDonald's, and Mexican and Chinese buffet on every corner.

Then we took a day to Arkadelphia to their water park which was cheap fun and great!

What does Hot Springs have? An overpriced amusement park, run down skating rink, run down public parks and some go karts. It's like a Third World wannabe Branson. Let's not forget downtown, which looks like a blown-out neighborhood in the Middle East.

We cater to these bikers and other tourists, ignoring our citizens. It's OK though, I have no problem spending money in another town.
