Missouri halts Arkansas, 57-41

COLUMBIA, Mo. -- The Arkansas women's basketball team enters this week's Southeastern Conference tournament at Verizon Arena in North Little Rock on a two-game losing streak, falling to Missouri 57-41 Sunday in their regular-season finale at Mizzou Arena.

Arkansas (16-12, 6-10) shot only three of 22 (13.6 percent) from the first-half floor, allowing the Tigers (17-12, 7-9) a 24-11 halftime lead. Missouri led wire-to-wire, building as much as a 24-point lead with 3:53 left in the game.

The Razorbacks' 12-of-23 second-half shooting (36.4 percent) was a vast improvement over the first half, finishing 15 of 55 (27.3 percent). They were also woeful from the free-throw line, seven of 17 (41.2 percent).

Missouri won comfortably while shooting 34.5 percent (19 of 55) from the field. The Tigers were nine of 26 (34.6 percent) in the first half and 10 of 29 (34.5 percent) in the second.

Jessica Jackson continued her hot play for the Razorbacks, recording 19 points and 11 rebounds while hitting eight of 19 from the field and three of five three-pointers. However, the rest of the rest of the team was just seven of 36 from the floor (19.4 percent).

Jhasmin Bownen added 11 points and 10 rebounds for Arkansas.

Sierra Michaelis paced Missouri with 15 points, knocking down all three of her three-point attempts. Jordan Frericks added 10 points.

Arkansas falls to the ninth seed in the SEC tournament, facing Ole Miss at noon Thursday. Missouri jumped up to the seventh seed with the win, taking on Georgia at 6 p.m. Thursday.
