Nominations sought for forestry leaders

The Arkansas Urban Forestry Council is accepting nominations for individuals, businesses and nonprofit organizations for its 2015 awards program, which recognizes contributions to community forestry in the state, through Friday.

"Anyone or any organization may be nominated that has had a role in building stronger communities by planting and caring for trees and leading others to do the same," Kyle Cunningham, president of the Arkansas Urban Forestry Council, said in a news release.

Award categories include Outstanding Volunteer and/or Volunteer Program, Outstanding Community, Outstanding Business, Outstanding Professional, Outstanding Developer and Outstanding Organization.

The nomination must include the nominee's name and contact information, and a brief description of the nominee's contributions to community forestry in Arkansas. A nomination form is available at http://bit.ly/1DbWLGh. Award nominations are due via fax, 501-625-3710, or email, [email protected].

Awards will be given during the luncheon at AUFC's 23rd Conference in Benton on March 31.
