United Methodist Thrift Store, 304 Albert Pike, is open from 9 a.m.- 4 p.m. Tuesday-Friday and 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Monday and Saturday. The store stocks men's, women's and children's clothing and accessories, household items, fabric and books (in good condition). Proceeds are used to assist needy families in Garland County.

Humane Society of Garland County Thrift Store, 2026 Central Ave., in the Freeman Center, is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday-Saturday. Donations in good condition are accepted. Proceeds contribute to the care of dogs and cats at the kennel facilities at 1249 Ault Loop, Lonsdale. Donations of dog and cat food and other miscellaneous pet supplies may be dropped off at the store. Free low-cost spay and neuter vouchers are available at the store. Hot Springs Toastmasters will meet at 8 a.m. Saturday in the Maurice Room of National Park Medical Center, on Malvern Avenue. The room is in the southeast end of the building, on the left as you look at it from Malvern, and is accessed from under the portico. It welcomes all interested persons to attend the regular meetings and contest dates. Toastmasters offers resources, feedback and a supportive atmosphere for those who want to develop or practice varied skills in speaking in front of an audience or in chairing a meeting. The focus is on the individual local club member, as well as modest cost. Visitors may choose their level of participation while learning about Toastmasters.
