Engineer appears at fault

Dear editor:

Blaming Congress for the eight deaths in the Pennsylvania train derailment is absurd! The person in control of that train, the engineer, who was attempting to negotiate a 50 mph curve at a speed of over 100 mph, appears to be at fault. If equipment upgrades are sorely needed, as Ms. Ladd asserts, how come hundreds of other trains have safely negotiated that curve?

But wait, I realize that personal responsibility is a thing of the past ... maybe global warming caused the train to go that fast!
