Prema graduates first class of yoga teachers

The first weekend of May brings new yoga teachers to Hot Springs. Prema School of Yoga is a Registered Yoga School offering 200 hours of yoga teacher training for students of yoga aspiring to take the next step to become teachers. Prema graduated its first class of yoga teachers. Training for the 2015-2016 year will begin in September and be held in Hot Springs at Whittington Place, just off Central Avenue downtown.

Yoga students who wish to become registered yoga teachers through Yoga Alliance are encouraged to apply for enrollment, whether they desire to teach community classes or simply deepen their personal yoga practice. Instructors at the Prema School of Yoga come to the program from distinctly different backgrounds and bring a wide spectrum of experience to the curriculum.

Lead instructor is Karen Reeves, of The Yoga Place in Hot Springs, and Grace Full Yoga, in Bryant. Staff instructors are Sharon Stickney, of The Yoga Place, and Suzanne Kennemer, a certified herbalist with Grace Full Yoga. Guest instructors include a wide variety of specialties like jivamukiti yoga, kundalini yoga, and ashtanga yoga. Enrollment information, tuition costs and training schedule can be found at Prema's website or find it on Facebook and Twitter. Enrollment is open and prospective students may conveniently apply online.

Prema School of Yoga looks forward to bringing a fresh perspective to the challenge of becoming a yoga teacher. Prema means unconditional love, so while the first step may be a big one, there are willing hands and warm hearts standing by for support. Questions are welcome and reassurance is free.
