Lakeside Middle School seventh-grade students Katelyn Hartsell, left, Erika Bittinger and Carly Orr make sandwiches Tuesday for 170 sack lunches during the school's second annual Day of Caring. Seventh-grade students from the school spent the morning at several locations around the county doing volunteer work, including Project Hope Food bank, Gulpha Gorge, the Humane Society of Garland County adoption event at Temperance Hill Mall, Garland County Habitat for Humanity, Lakeside ACE, United Way of Garland County, First Step, and Emergent Arts building. The lunches were scheduled to be delivered to Jackson House and the Samaritan Ministries of Hot Springs later Tuesday.
