Performances captivate

Dear editor:

I believe that more than a few residents of Hot Springs forget how lucky we are to have so many talented artists living here (and in surrounding communities).

On Sunday, Nov. 15, I was fortunate enough to attend an astounding performance held at St. Luke's Episcopal Church. The dedicated musicians and vocalists from National Park College and the Hot Springs Music Festival Chorus came together to showcase a variety of their extraordinary talents. Through sight and sound, the audience was enthralled with what could only be described as a mesmerizing "musical prayer."

"Kudos" go out to the conductor, Denise Edds; and organist, Lynn Payette (for their exceptional arrangement); soloists Brittany Osman, Leann Hatley and Dr. Tom Bolton; as well as all musicians and chorus members for their powerful interpretation of "Requiem for the Living."

To have had the opportunity to experience such a captivating and emotional performance was humbling. In my opinion, this musical event has "raised the bar" by influencing musicians and vocalists coming to the "Spa City" venues.

National Park College and the Hot Springs Music Festival Chorus reached for the stars and blessed those of us who attended with an unforgettable and glorious production. Bravo!
