Quitman quarterback Trey McGhee ran for 140 yards and two touchdowns and passed for 203 yards and two scores. The 26th CMS turnover of the season swung the momentum behind Quitman.

The Bulldogs looked to press the advantage before the half concluded, moving into CMS territory on two completions covering 35 yards, but Arteaga's interception stopped the advance.

CMS scored on its first possession, going 65 yards in six plays, with Holden Boyden getting 25 yards on the second play from scrimmage and the last 17 on a jet sweep.
