SummerFest Uptown will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. There will be music, entertainment, food and vendors, as well as a children's art area and they can take their art home with them. Come out, have some good food, enjoy the music and have some family fun.

To close out this year, there will be a silent auction of the first, second and third place winners of this summer's open art competition, "Rubble Rousing Arts of the Majestic" past, present or future.

The artists' works are on display at the Hot Springy Dingy, 409 Park Ave. Bids may be put in at Spring Dingy or at SummerFest on Saturday. First place is "Beauty in Despair" photograph by Jeremy Rogers, second place, "Early Days" mixed media by Kenneth Martin, and third place, "The Majestic Hotel but Never Mind" digital photography by Janice Jones.

All proceeds go to improvements on Park Avenue area, which include lights, decorations, planting and future festivals on Park.

This will be the last chance this year to show off cooking skills ... with the "Cornbread Cook-Off" or the "Chili Cook-Off." Contestants can enter one or both cook-offs! Competition will be for "Best of Show" and "People's Choice" in both categories.

Entry forms and details are on the SummerFest Uptown Facebook page, at http://www.summerfestuptown.com and at Hot Springy Dingy. Contestants will serve up tastings of their chili and cornbread as long as it's available. The "Best of Show" will be by chosen by "roaming judges." Festival goers will vote for the "People's Choice" in both categories. Plus, there is still time to purchase a ticket to win a cookout for you and 20 friends at a location of your choice. Tickets are $1 each or six tickets for $5. Nextlevel BBQ will prepare and deliver the meal within a 75-mile range of Hot Springs. Entrants do not have to be present for the drawing.
