Dear editor:
I am saddened, but not surprised, that Mr. Voss finds the display of our flag by Alliance Rubber Co. garish. I can't think of a finer place to display a symbol of our country. I smile and I am proud of the company's efforts. I think we could see a lot more of this, not less. If you watch sports on television, you will notice many athletes and even their coaches no longer place their hand over their heart during the singing of the national anthem.
The only thing I can suggest is that he stay off the bypass at Carpenter Dam Road and pick another route to his destination. By the way, this flag also symbolizes the freedom we have to criticize something in this country that offends you and not be put in jail for it.
