Two arrested in alleged burglary

An 18-year-old Royal woman who admitted to a burglary was arrested Tuesday along with a juvenile suspect.

Jordan Blair Wright was charged with residential burglary, a felony punishable by up to 20 years in prison. She remained in custody Wednesday in lieu of a $5,000 bond and is due in Garland County District Court on Sept. 15.

Garland County sheriff's Lt. Joel Ware responded to Econo Lodge Inn and Suites, 106 Lookout Point, Tuesday after Cpl. Greg Kellar located two suspects who reportedly committed a burglary. Kellar also located some of the stolen property inside a room rented by the suspects.

According to the affidavit, Ware made contact with one suspect, identified as Wright. She stated she rented a room under a false identification card and said she would show Ware the stolen property. Wright was taken into custody and transported to the Garland County Detention Center. She admitted to committing the burglary with a 16-year-old male who was also taken into custody.

• A 19-year-old local man was arrested Tuesday morning for allegedly pawning items stolen from a Benton police unit in May.

David Ray Nesmith, who listed a Garland Avenue address, was charged with theft by receiving, a felony punishable by up to six years in prison. He remained in custody Wednesday in lieu of bonds totaling $6,000 and is due in district court Sept. 14.

According to the affidavit, a Benton Police Department detective filed a report that his police unit was broken into at his residence. Missing items from the vehicle included a camera and two SD cards.

On May 18, detectives obtained a pawn ticket at 270 Pawn, 4430 Albert Pike Road. The ticket showed a transaction from May 14 with Nesmith's information and a list of the items stolen from the detective's unit.
