'Showers of Glory' at Comfort Suites

The "Showers of Glory Conference 2016" will be April 28-30 at Comfort Suites, 320 Nash St. Services will start at 10 a.m. Thursday, with Margaret Windham, of Tyler, Texas, speaking. Virginia Cobern Bunch, of Mineola, Texas, will speak at 6:30 p.m. Thursday.

Johnny Foote, of Pensacola, Fla., will speak at 10 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. Friday. A food and fellowship service will take place after the the 6:30 p.m. service in the breakfast area at Comfort Suites. Fernanda Bedgood will speak at 10 a.m. Saturday.

The conference is free and no registration is required.

St. Mark to hold annual Youth Day Celebration

St. Mark Baptist Church, 542 Crescent Ave., will hold its Annual Youth Day Celebration during the 11 a.m. Sunday worship service. The theme will be "Declaring Your Worth, Making Healthy Choices." Guest speaker will be Kathryn Scott-Wiley, M.Ed. administration, Ouachita Baptist University, Upward Bound SI, business ed teacher with the Prescott School District and works with the yearbook staff. Wiley is youth director for the Southwest District Missionary Baptist Association and assistant director for the associational choir. She is a member of Macedonia Baptist Church in Boughton, where she serves as pianist. All are welcome.

St. Phillips COGIC to celebrate Women Day

St. Phillips COGIC, 237 Walnut St., will celebrate their Women Day service at 11:15 a.m. Sunday. The speaker will be Doris Neal, from Outreach Deliverance Center Ministry of Jesus, Newport. All are welcome.

Kirkin the Pines members to visit Holy Land

Presbyterian Kirk in the Pines members, family and friends plan to take a 10-day pilgrimage in March 2017 to Israel with Pastor Bill Bailey. This will be Bailey's fifth trip. The trip will include visits to Jerusalem, the Mount of Olives, Garden of Gethsemane, Church of the Holy Sepulcre, Temple Mount, Wailing Wall and other sites.

The group plans to depart from Dallas on March 20 and return March 29. The full itinerary and details are available for anyone interested in joining the trip. Seating is limited. Reservations are on a first come, first served basis.

Angel Gabriel COGIC, 155 Lemon St., is celebrating the church's 84th anniversary at 3 p.m. Sunday. Speaker will be Elder Steve Wright, of Washington Memorial COGIC.

Cottrell Chapel observes annual Women's Day

Cottrell Chapel CME Church, 698 E. Grand Ave., will observe its annual Women's Day Sunday. Clara Puckett, of Visitors Chapel AME Church, will speak at 11 a.m. Pastor Chester R. Jones, of Haven United Methodist Church, will speak at 3 p.m.
