Grateful for kind act

Dear editor:

It's easy in this day and age to find negativity, it's all around us. Every once in awhile, someone or something restores your faith in humanity, if only briefly.

Last Friday afternoon, to my dismay, I discovered that I had lost a $100 bill during a day of hectic last-minute shopping. Backtracking with little hope, I stopped by what had been my first stop of the day, Dollar General on Albert Pike.

When I walked in, two women grinned broadly at me and said, "There he is." To my amazement, they had found it laying on the ground by the counter when I left, and then put it back for safekeeping in the manager's office. Unbelievable. Their names are Jennifer (store manager) and Sharon (associate.) Despite their protests, I rewarded each of them monetarily for finding it, explaining that 10 minutes earlier I had nothing.

These two women epitomize honesty and integrity. I've always made it a point to shop at Dollar General because things are priced right, easy to find, and you always deal with a real person at the register -- no self checkouts there, they employ real, live human beings.

Now, there's no question: If Dollar General (especially the one on Albert Pike) has it, I will purchase it there, nowhere else. Thank you Jennifer and Sharon, keep up the great work and bless you for being genuinely good people.
