NEW YORK -- Christian Vital made two free throws with 2.2 seconds to play to give Connecticut a 52-50 victory over Syracuse on Monday night in the Tire Pro Classic at Madison Square Garden.

Andrew White III hit a three-pointer with 9.1 seconds left to bring Syracuse into a 50-50 tie. Rodney Purvis missed a three-point attempt for the Huskies but Vital was fouled on the rebound. Syracuse's final chance was a long inbounds pass that was stolen by Connecticut.

Purvis had 21 points and seven rebounds for the Huskies (4-4) while Jalen Adams had 16 points, seven rebounds and seven assists. Kentan Facey had a career-high 13 rebounds.

White finished with 14 points for the Orange (5-3), who have lost three of four. Dajuan Coleman had 10 points and a career-high 16 rebounds for Syracuse.

Coastal Carolina 100

Piedmont International 63

CONWAY, S.C. -- Demario Beck had 20 points and 13 rebounds to lead Coastal Carolina.

Beck finished six of eight from the field, including three of three from long range, and five of six at the line.

Elijah Wilson added 16 points and Jaylen Shaw had 11 points and eight assists for the Chanticleers (4-6), who shot 49.3 percent from the field and hit 10 threes.

Nash Carter scored 19 points and David Barron added 18 to lead Piedmont, which was held to just 30.8 percent shooting and lost the rebounding battle 56-34.

Iowa 95, Stetson 68

IOWA CITY, Iowa -- Cordell Pemsl muscled in 21 points Monday night as Iowa snapped a four-game losing streak.

Isaiah Moss, a redshirt freshman, pumped in five three-pointers and also scored 21 points for Iowa (4-5). Peter Jok collected 15 points, eight rebounds and seven assists for the Hawkeyes.

Leo Goodman led Stetson (4-6) with 14 points.

St. John's 76

Cal State Northridge 70

NEW YORK -- Freshman Shamorie Ponds scored a season-best 25 points and St. John's held off Cal State Northridge.

Darin Johnson hit two free throws with 1:08 left to get CSUN within 71-68. After Bashir Ahmed went 1 of 2 at the other end, Tavrion Dawson made a layup with 40.3 seconds left to cut it to 72-70.

Kendall Smith, who finished with 10 points for CSUN, fouled out with 18.7 seconds left and Ponds sealed it with two free throws.

Cincinnati 85

Bowling Green 56

CINCINNATI -- Kyle Washington scored a career-high 24 points and Cincinnati rolled to over Bowling Green on Sunday night for its fifth-straight win.

Washington made 11 of 13 field goals, and has scored in double figures in every game this season. Justin Jenifer had 14 points and Troy Caupain added 12 points for Cincinnati (7-1), which shot 34 of 61 from the field for 56 percent.

Zack Denny and Wes Alcegaire scored 16 points apiece to lead Bowling Green (3-5).
