King celebration 'thanks'

Dear editor:

The 2016 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. birthday celebration was a huge success this year because of people who are dedicated to keeping his dream alive.

The proceeds from the program are used to give a deserving youth member of the NAACP a scholarship to use toward their first year of college.

On behalf of the NAACP Unit 6013, we would like to thank each and every one who participated in/supported our program. I ask in advance that I be forgiven for omitting the name of any organization or individual. All efforts were equally appreciated by our unit.

We thank everyone who purchased a ticket and came out to support us.

Douglas Jones, Rev. Lynnette Coulter, Rev. Kenneth Gulley, Rev. James Story, Lt. Col. Curtis Craft Jr., Elder Richard Harper, Young Prophets of America, the Honorable Thomas Anderson, Christian Smith, Keanna Peck, Kai Coggin and Solomon Davis.
