The Five Star Dinner Theatre will present "Mark Twain's The Laughing River," a realistic tribute to the American icon, beginning Thursday and running every Thursday and Friday through February, March and part of April.

Jim Post will perform the part of Twain. He's hung out with Janis Joplin and Studs Terkel, performed with stars from country great Eddy Arnold to rock giant Cream, and has been recognized by the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. But, this "Charlotte's Web" regular from Galena, Ill., who continues to draw enthusiastic audiences after more than four decades, remains down-to-earth, a news release said.

In the past 30 years, among other things, Post has recorded more than 20 CDs and written and performed two acclaimed one-man shows.

Also playing at the theater for one night only is "Driving Miss Daisy" at 7 p.m. Friday. An optional dinner will be served at 6 p.m.

Tickets are discounted at $10 off per couple this weekend only.

Call the theater at 318-1600 for show information.
