The deadline to order bricks and pavers for the Garland County Veterans Memorial and Military Park is March 1 for the Memorial Day service, and Sept. 1 for the Veterans Day service, according to the memorial committee.
Each year, the names on each new brick and paver are read during the ceremonies, and individuals do not have to be a veteran to purchase a brick or paver.
The veterans memorial and military park is a tribute to all veterans and assures that the veterans are recognized, honored and thanked for their service.
The five pillars of the monument represent the five branches of the military and have the names of the Medal of Honor, Distinguished Service Cross and Silver Star recipients.
