A word of 'thanks'

Dear editor:

I would like to appropriately acknowledge WindowWorld of Little Rock with "appreciation and thanks." A few months ago, WindowWorld had a contest of sorts to give away windows to a veteran in honor of Veterans Day. My daughters, and I'm not sure who else, put my name and my story in the hat. I was one of the winners.

In a time when I felt that this world had forgotten Korean veterans, this great blessing was brought to my door step. I am a Korean veteran and it seems that this world does not recognize any of us and they should. All other wars are remembered on a consistent basis. As you walk the halls of the VA hospital, you see pictures honoring veterans from World War II, Vietnam, Iraq and Desert Storm. Now please understand, they should be honored for their unselfish duty to protect and preserve our freedom here in the United States of America. But in the same sense, we, the Korean veterans, are not acknowledged and should be. This greatly saddens me.

This company, WindowWorld, has, in my opinion, honored all Korean veterans by the acknowledgment and presentation of windows in my home. These windows were desperately needed and now my home is safe and secure from weather and, furthermore, has greatly improved the look of my home.

The job was completed quickly and efficiently by a competent worker, Chester Brooks. He was very kind and worked effortlessly to bring honor to me, a Korean veteran on Veterans Day.

I just want to officially and appropriately say "Thank You." Thank you from the bottom of my heart. I pray the Lord blesses your company and employees so that you may continue doing great things for veterans, especially Korean veterans. You will never know what a difference you have made, not only in the appearance of my home, but in my outlook on life, being recognized as a Korean veteran.
