Saline Memorial donates ECG equipment to NPC

From Staff Reports

The National Park College Health Sciences Division received a GE MAC-5000 from Saline Memorial Hospital at the end of the fall semester.

If purchased new, the GE MAC-5000 echocardiogram equipment costs approximately $15,000.

ECG equipment is used to measure electrical activity in the heart. The Health Sciences Division plans to use the equipment for teaching proper technique in obtaining ECGs, as well as identifying ECG patterns that require medical interventions.

"We are so thankful to Saline Memorial Hospital for their continued support of our programs," said Churck Burke, chair of the Health Sciences Division.

"As a clinical education site, our students receive excellent hands-on experience in the field with some of the best professionals in their field. This donation will help us to continue to provide hands-on experience with state-of-the-art equipment."
