Hot Springs Local Ostomy Support Group meets from 10:30 a.m. to noon the second Saturday of February, April, June, August, October and December in the Dublin Room at CHI St. Vincent Hospital Hot Springs. This is a nonprofit organization established to help people who have had or are needing ostomy surgery. Discussions include ways to help others living with this type of surgery. There are guest speakers, ostomy suppliers and a wealth of information on diet, traveling and skin care. Proceeds contribute to the care of dogs and cats at the kennel facilities at 1249 Ault Loop, Lonsdale. Donations of dog and cat food and other pet supplies may be dropped off at the store. Hot Springs Carousel Readers' Theater entertains audiences with performances emphasizing humor and enthusiasm. The group is unique in that actors remain behind music stands, acting out characters using facial expressions, voice and gestures. There is limited memorization since actors have scripts in front of them. People of all ages interested in theatrical study and performance are welcome to attend meetings from 10:30 a.m. to noon Fridays at Garland County Library. Appearances are free, however, donations are welcome to cover expenses. Members are interested in appearing for fundraising events.
