Students from Lakeside High School and Malvern High School were announced this week to the all-state choirs after auditions were held on Friday.

Almost 800 students tried out at Henderson State University in Arkadelphia. A total of 400 students were selected for the all-state choirs.

Five Lakeside performers were named to the male chorus. The Lakeside selections were Devin Bobosky, tenor II; Noah McClanahan, bass I; Marcus Rogers, tenor I; Judson Spellings, bass I; and Gerald Thomas, bass I.

The male and female choirs consist of 100 students each.

Malvern's Connor Scroggins was one of 10 all-state choral selections who were also named all-state in band and elected to perform with their instruments. Scroggins was named to the All-State Symphonic Band on French horn.

The three Arkansas Choral Directors Association concerts are held midday on the final day of the conference. The performances will be in Hall A of the convention center.
