A Hot Springs man was arrested on a felony warrant Tuesday morning after allegedly stealing cash down payments from a local business.

George Waymon Overton, 43, who lists a Wildwood Forrest Road address, was taken into custody shortly after 8 a.m. and charged with theft of property, a felony punishable by up to 10 years in prison. He bonded out and is set to appear Feb. 23 in Garland County District Court.

According to the affidavit, on Oct. 28, an employee at Orr Cadillac, 4555 Central Ave., stated when she was conducting a sales audit for October she had noticed that an employee, identified as Overton, had not turned in paperwork for three vehicle sales.

Management confronted Overton and he produced the paperwork, but none of the cash down payments. Cash deposits missing were from Oct. 17 for $2,500 and two on Oct. 21 for $1,800 and $3,000.

A warrant was issued for Overton's arrest and Hot Springs police featured him as a "Most Wanted" suspect in Saturday's The Sentinel-Record and on social media.
