Residents can take part

in 'Love Your Library'

HOT SPRINGS VILLAGE -- February is Love Your Library Month, and Hot Springs Village residents can take part locally at the Coronado Center Library, 150 Ponderosa Way.

Book lovers can pick up their tried and true favorites, or go out on a limb and try something daring by going on a "blind date" with a book. Those interested can check out a wrapped book, read it, then rate the "date" by noon Feb. 29. Participants will be entered into a drawing for a gift card.

Back pain workshop

Back pain and sciatica sufferers can attend the upcoming Back Pain and Sciatica Workshop at 11 a.m. Feb. 20 in the Coronado Community Center, 150 Ponderosa Way.

Attendees will learn how to naturally heal back pain and sciatica under the tutelage of Lee Sowerbutts, a physical therapist at the Village Golf & Physical Therapy Center.

Registrants will be able to immediately download the free report, "Top Burning Questions About Sciatica," upon signing up, and a Lower Back Pain and Sciatica work sheet will be mailed out for participants to look over and complete during the event.

The class is limited to 30 people, and registration is available by calling 501-984-2453.

Next Partner Up

luncheon slated

The next Partner Up luncheon will be held from noon to 1 p.m. Feb. 24 in the Good Samaritan Society, 121 Cortez Road.

Organized by the Hot Springs Village Area Chamber of Commerce, this month's event is sponsored by Good Sam's.

The cost is $12, and reservations can be made by calling 501-915-9940.

Attendees should bring their business cards for a door prize drawing.

Culinary carving

A workshop on decorative carving of fruits and vegetables will be led by Karla Nardi, beginning at 10 a.m. March 15 in the Coronado Community Center, 150 Ponderosa Way.

In this workshop, students will learn knife skills in the kitchen, including proper sharpening, how to carve small fruits and vegetables, and how to carve various sizes and types of melons. At the end of the day, attendees will have learned beautiful ways to dress up a table for impressing family and friends.

Participants will need to bring knives and a cutting board.

Boxed lunches will be available for purchase at $7, or a personal meal can be brought.

The workshop cost is $40 plus tax for property owners, and $50 plus tax for non-property owners.
