LHJH wins two at home

PEARCY -- Brennon Gibson scored 13 points, Kanaan Williams nine and Clyde Hill eight as Lake Hamilton's junior boys downed Cabot White 49-28 Thursday night at Wolf Arena.

The Wolves led 28-11 at halftime, improving to 12-5 overall and 2-2 in conference games.

Lake Hamilton's junior girls are 15-2 and 4-0, respectively, after defeating Cabot White 36-18. Jenny Peake had 20 points and five steals for the Lady Wolves.

Cabot won the eighth-grade boys game 29-25, Malik Brewer scoring 13 and Spencer Gracie seven for Lake Hamilton.

Lake Hamilton's junior-high teams play at Conway White Monday night.

Lakeside JH-Malvern

A 26-7 first half carried Lakeside's junior girls to a 39-25 victory over Malvern Thursday night.

Ashton Patrick scored 12 points, Lindsey Davis eight, Jaidan Thomas seven and Chloe Porter four for the Lady Rams (15-4). Lakeside led 35-13 after three quarters.

Lakeside's eighth-grade girls are 11-0 after winning 15-2, outscoring Malvern 9-0 in the second half. Riley Green had five points and Porter four for the Lady Rams.

KISSIMMEE, Fla. -- Two Arkansas pro anglers made the 12-man cut after two rounds of the Bass Pro Shops Bassmaster Southern Open here on the Kissimmee chain of lakes.

Benton's Stetson Blaylock is sixth with 32 pounds, 15 ounces and Marion's Mark Rose with 32-2, both with the maximum 10 fish. Tennessee angler Wesley Strader (37-4) leads by more than 2 pounds over Floridian Eric Panzironi, earning a $250 bonus for leading Friday's round.
