Members of the Governor's Advisory Council on Aging, including Hot Springs Village CFO Lesley Nalley, fourth from right, recently met for a quarterly meeting in the Arkansas state Capitol. Lt. Gov. Tim Griffin addressed the group on his passion for a "Spend Less, Tax Less" state government, and, according to a news release, one of his most powerful statements of the day was that "state government has a moral obligation to spend taxpayer dollars efficiently." Both he and Division of Aging & Adult Services Director Craig Cloud spoke of their various activities targeting monetary waste. Nalley represents Region 6 for the council, which includes Clark, Pike, Hot Spring, Garland, Montgomery, Perry, Yell, Conway, Pope and Johnson counties. The GACA was formed to advocate for the elderly, and to stimulate interest around the state regarding the aging population. Its members want to hear from seniors about their concerns and needs.
