Crosswalk safety

Dear editor:

Subject: The three R's.

Not reading, (w)riting or (a)rithmetic, but rather -- rude, reckless and (un)responsible and please add recent, Saturday, June 11, 2016.

Crosswalk to Oaklawn: "Local" law enforcement did not even stop for pedestrians. Proper procedure was exercised -- example, light pushed for caution. People "paying attention" stopped out of respect and also regulations -- local law enforcement -- don't know car number -- did not stop! Ridiculous!

Explanation: There have been individuals almost hit -- including myself and companion -- and some that were killed or badly injured.

Personal conjecture: Hot Springs law is in process of replacement of new "sheriff" in office and staff!

Upon this decision, proper protocol would be -- exercise safety in crosswalks and all officers "practice what you preach," except for guilty officer.

P.S. More R's: No rhyme or reason for jeopardizing citizen safety!
