Documents released Tuesday provided new details about the events leading up to Saturday's manhunt for a Hot Springs man who was arrested on felony charges of kidnapping, battery and fleeing.

Chad Aaron Allison, 34, was taken into custody shortly after 1 p.m. Saturday and charged with aggravated residential burglary, two counts of kidnapping and two counts of terroristic threatening, each punishable by up to life in prison, second-degree domestic battery, punishable by up to 20 years, and second-degree battery and fleeing, each punishable by up to six years. He remained in custody Tuesday in lieu of $23,000 bond and is set to appear July 11 in Garland County District Court.

According to the arrest affidavit, Garland County sheriff's Deputy Jon Lane responded to 196 W. Sheets Trail at around 5:30 a.m. Saturday in reference to a white male, later identified as Allison, who was refusing to leave a residence. It was determined the caller had left the residence to call 911 at a neighbor's house because "she was in fear for her life" and then returned.

Lane saw lights on inside the residence, but no one answered the door. Lane heard movement inside the house and saw a person standing in the bathroom window. Using his PA system, Lane ordered the occupants to come outside, but they refused to emerge. Deputy Scott Hinojosa assisted on securing the premises until additional patrol units arrived.

Finally, a white female, later identified as the initial caller, stepped out of the house and told the deputies two men were still inside. She stated one man was her boyfriend and initially declined to identify the second man, noting he had threatened to harm her boyfriend if she did. She finally identified the second man as Allison, her ex-boyfriend.

Allison allegedly entered her residence uninvited in the middle of the night and started beating up her and her boyfriend. He refused to let them leave, and reportedly threatened to kill them with a knife.

Lane continued to call to Allison, ordering him to come outside and show his hands while exiting. After about 10 minutes, the boyfriend exited the residence bleeding from scrapes and had visible redness on his body. He stated Allison was still inside as additional deputies arrived at the scene.

Sgt. Greg Keller ordered Allison to exit the residence for about an hour. Deputies then heard Allison breaking items inside the residence, sounding as if he was attempting to break through the floor. Water began to pour out the from the bottom of the house and deputies removed the skirting around the residence to make sure he was not underneath it.

Allison then fled from the back door of the home, climbed over a railing, jumped 9 feet to the ground and ran into the woods behind the residence. Both the sheriff's department and a Hot Springs Police Department K-9 unit responded and started a four-hour track of Allison through the woods. His scooter was located in the bushes near the 1200 block of Danville Road.

A neighbor pulled up at one point asking if the officers were looking for someone. The neighbor stated he gave a ride to a man wearing a maroon shirt and bluejeans, taking him to the 500 block of Whittington Avenue.

Officers went to Allison's address, 504 Whittington, where Allison answered the door wearing a maroon shirt and bluejeans and was noted to be "scratched up." He was taken into custody at that time.
