A local woman who slashed her former boyfriend's hand with a knife and bit off most of one of his eyebrows last year was sentenced to five years in prison Tuesday after pleading guilty to charges in Garland County Circuit Court.

Latosha Ann Wilbourn, 34, who lists a Grove Street address, pleaded guilty to second-degree domestic battery and felony failure to appear and was sentenced to five years on each count, to run concurrently, and ordered to pay $170 in court costs. She will be given credit for time served since her arrest Jan. 13, 2015.

Wilbourn is classified as a habitual offender, having been previously convicted in 2002 of stealing and second-degree assault; in 2007 of second-degree robbery; and in 2012 of second-degree burglary, all in Pemiscot County, Mo.

According to the affidavit, on Jan. 13, around 11 a.m., Hot Springs police Detective Scott Lampinen responded to National Park Medical Center regarding a domestic battery and made contact with the victim, 55, who stated he had been attacked by his live-in girlfriend, identified as Wilbourn.

The victim stated that, at around 4 a.m. that day, Wilbourn had sliced open his left hand with a knife and hit him in the head with a stick during an argument at their Daisy Street residence. The victim then walked to the hospital where he received 12 stitches in his hand and was released shortly before 7:30 a.m.

He stated he returned home and Wilbourn returned around 9:30 a.m. and they got into another argument as the victim was sitting in a chair by his bed. Wilbourn pushed the victim out of the chair onto the bed, got on top of him and bit his right eyebrow, taking most of it off. During the struggle, the victim's stitches in his hand were also ripped open.

Lampinen noted "a large piece of flesh" missing from the victim's eyebrow and a contusion to his forehead. He was also informed by hospital personnel the cut to the victim's hand was severe.

Lampinen later located Wilbourn at her residence and took her into custody.
