Majestic ideas

Dear editor:

If we get rid of parking downtown, it not only hurts the shoppers, but also the people who work at the shops. When it gets dark by 5 p.m., they will have to walk in the dark to the parking deck. With some questionable characters in the parking deck, I wouldn't want to do this by myself, whether I was a woman or a man.

Where are you going to get all of those bikes you're talking about to use the parking spots?

I believe you were looking for ideas for the Majestic Hotel location. Has anyone been to War Memorial Park in Little Rock? It has a great area for kids to play, including waterspouts when it's hot, even a place to fish -- all with parking and seats for sitting to enjoy the area.

Also, did anyone go to Spring Fest in Little Rock a few weeks ago that was for families? They had high school students volunteer their time to do face painting, craft, bouncy houses, food trucks for folks to buy food and drinks and all kinds of fun stuff -- and it was free. After families enjoy an activity downtown, they might wander down the street and shop.

These are my ideas and I'm sure there are more from the great folks of Hot Springs.
