Parenting class offered at Garland County Library

The Garland County Library will offer a six-week parenting class, "Parenting with Love and Logic," beginning at 6 p.m. Tuesday.

The classes will be taught by licensed professional counselor Karla Gentry.

"Parenting with Love and Logic" is a parenting class which covers the essentials of the parenting book of the same name by Charles Fay, Ph.D., and Dr. Foster Cline.

The class is meant to show parents how to raise self-confident and motivated children and to teach parents how to increase their child's sense of responsibility.

"This is the first parenting class that we have offered at the library," said Cori Williams, programming librarian. "We are hoping to offer this class as we have many parents asking for different parenting books in the library. It will be interesting for them to be able to interact with a licensed counselor and get advice in person."

"Parenting with Love and Logic" is offered as a six classes with one each Tuesday and Thursday for three weeks. The cost of the class is $5 and must be paid at the Garland County Library prior to the class. A workbook is provided on the first day of class.

Call the Library at 623-4161 or 922-4483 for more information.
