From left, Jody Sprague, president of the Hot Springs Community Garden Network, Cindy Rogers, executive board member of the Park Avenue Community Association, and Angie Ezekiel, PACA president, install drought-tolerant, indigenous plants in curb bump outs all along Park Avenue Tuesday morning as part of a Rain Garden Planting Party hosted by PACA. Funded by a $1,500 Arkansas Flower and Garden Show grant, the plants are designed to catch stormwater runoff as well as contribute to the beautification of the Park Avenue Historic District. Volunteers, assisted by the city's Parks and Trails Department, led by landscape superintendent Brian Fisher, put in 400 plants Tuesday.
