Michelle Moody, 7, left, Avery Perez, 7, first-graders at St. Luke's Episcopal School, and fellow students dance around for a Cinco de Mayo celebration at the school on Thursday. According to The Associated Press, May 5 is celebrated as the day an undermanned Mexican army defeated French forces in 1862 at the city of Puebla. Many have the impression that May 5 is Mexico's Independence Day, but it's not. That day is celebrated each year on Sept. 16.
