Hot Springs EMT honored as LifeNet Star of Life

During National EMS Week, May 15-21, LifeNet will honor paramedic Nick Brown as a LifeNet's Star of Life. He was selected by his peers for this honor.

After graduating high school, Brown joined the U.S. Navy and served as a parachute rigger attached to an FA/18 squadron. After serving in the Navy, he returned home and worked alongside his father who is a general contractor for several years.

Brown began his medical career working as a physical therapy technician at both Hot Springs hospitals. It was then that he knew that he wanted help people and advance in the medical field. After completing EMT, school he began working as an emergency room technician at St. Joseph's Regional Medical Center.

In 2012, Brown began work part-time with LifeNet as an EMT and began paramedic school. He works as a paramedic as well as a field training officer. "He is well respected and known for the passion he brings to teaching new paramedics. His interaction skills with patients and coworkers has set him apart as a true leader in his field. Nick will undoubtedly continue to work in EMS and we are lucky to have him serve as a model for young and upcoming EMS personnel," states the press release.

National Emergency Services Week brings together local communities and medical personnel to publicize safety and to honor the dedication of those who provide the day-to-day life-saving services of medicine's "front line."
