Village Art Club members recently named Bernadette Christ as the Artist of the Month for May. Though she is one of the club's newest members, Christ has been creating art since her college days. Her main interests are in oils and colored pencil, but she enjoys experimenting with all art mediums. Her oil painting of surprised ostriches is titled, "Looking Back at You," and she was inspired to create the piece by a painting her husband saw while on vacation. Her work will be on display through the middle of June in the Coronado Community Center lobby, 150 Ponderosa Way.
