Library to present June JAMboree concert series

Garland County Library will present June JAMboree, a concert series featuring local musicians performing a variety of musical styles, every Wednesday night in June.

Each concert in the series will begin at 6 p.m. and seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Jazz ensemble Clyde Pound Trio will start off the series on June 1. "Clyde has done several concerts for us during the Jazz Society Concert Series," Greg Wallace, library staff supervisor, said in a news release. "He will be a great start to the summer. He and his trio have such a great sound and are never disappointing."

June 8 will feature Jacqueline Beaumont and Lawrence Womack playing their own style of classic favorites as the blues duo Jackie B & Me. Chuck Dodson will perform pop and folk style piano music on June 15. Long time keyboard and accordion player Maria Muller will lead Eclectic Trio on June 22. She will be joined by two other accomplished musicians who play a variety of world instruments such as the octave mandolin, ukulele, violin, tuba and others. DJ Theronious Chunk and DJ Courier Coleman will mix things up with the final June JAMboree concert, Art of the Turntable, on June 29.

"The concert series will be a great way to get the whole family out and enjoy some free entertainment," said circulation supervisor Karen Covey. "Be sure to bring your dancing shoes, these bands are going to make you want to move."
