Civitans make donation in memory of member

In August, Hot Springs Civitan Club lost a member, Relda Steelman, in a motorcycle accident. She had been a member of the Civitan Club since 2011. She was a volunteer to many Civitan projects and participated in the Polar Bear Plunge to benefit Special Olympics with the Civitan Club. She always organized the Hot Springs Civitan Club's volunteer time with the Miss Arkansas Pageant and served as a past president for the club. President Kay Ekey stated in the release, "Relda brought enthusiasm and joy to our club. She motivated others by leading by example."

The Hot Springs Civitan Club has made a donation to UAB Civitan International Research Center in memory of Steelman. The UAB Civitan International Research Center is a world-class medical facility dedicated to researching developmental disabilities and other cognitive disorders. This is the central outlet of Civitan International's worldwide mission to help people with developmental disabilities.
