'Playing with Language' workshop this fall

The Literacy Council of Garland County, 119 Hobson Ave., is beginning a new program, "Playing with Language," tailored for adults who want to gain confidence in reading aloud, in basic writing skills and speaking English conversationally. Sessions will be held from 5:30-7 p.m. the third Thursday of the month beginning today and going through March. Any interested adult is welcome to participate in any session.

Participants will engage in literacy-based activities such as word and guessing games, telling a story with only five words, or using only body language, and writing simple scripts such as how your family celebrates life events.

For more information, call Laura Lee Williard at 501-624-7323 or email director@literacycouncilxyz.
