One-sided choices

Dear editor:

I welcome the comments of Mr. Gary Vogt to my letter of Oct. 8 pertaining to Hillary Clinton's desire, if she should become president, to fill those position on the Supreme Court which will become vacant through retirement or death.

My main concern in my letter was not that she strongly desires to take away my right to own a gun to protect me and my family, but that the choices should be so one-sided, whether it be a Republican- or Democrat-elected president. If Congress has any "backbone" power remaining after the last eight years, they will not give HRC what she wants just because she is a woman -- and it would be the nice thing to do.

I wholeheartedly agree with Mr. Vogt that there should be term limits set for those serving on the Supreme Court, not to exceed the tenure of each elected president. Also, if not stated in the Constitution, that Congress should be able to veto any decisions made by the Court if the majority of representatives deem them to not be in the best interest of our nation.

Those serving in government positions have seemingly forgotten that they are the employees and the American people are their employers!
