HOT SPRINGS VILLAGE -- Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, in Hot Springs Village, will sponsor a Women's Day of Recollection on Sept. 27 beginning with daily Mass at 9 a.m. The first presentation is scheduled at 9:45 a.m.
Speaker for the day will be Cackie Upchurch, who will explain "Models of Mercy from the Bible" in four talks scheduled throughout the day. She will take attendees through salvation history and then spend time with the psalms, followed by the parables and healings of Jesus. Each presentation will give one an opportunity to consider their response to God's mercy and their offer of mercy to others.
Upchurch taps into years of experience in Bible study and adult faith formation to share the life-giving message of scripture. She serves as director of Little Rock Scripture Study, an international ministry based in the Catholic Diocese of Little Rock. She is the general editor of the Little Rock Catholic Study Bible; an associate editor of The Bible Today, a periodical of contemporary biblical scholarship; contributor to Give Us This Day, a resource for personal daily prayer; and the author of "Mary, Favored by God and Moses, Called and Equipped."
Water and coffee will be available throughout the day. Please bring a sack lunch and snacks or other drinks as necessary.

Attendees will have an opportunity to make a freewill offering.
All women in the Hot Springs area are welcome to come for times of quiet reflection and sharing in small groups. Bring a lunch, Bible and open heart.
