Hickory Hill Park will close its 2016 season by presenting a gospel music concert at 7 p.m. today featuring The Hendrix Trio.

Formed in 1992, this Southern/country gospel trio is based out of Texarkana, Texas. They have opened for national recording artists such as The Hoppers, Gold City, Mike Bowling Group, The Nelons, Jeff and Sherri Easter, Greater Vision, Karen Peck and New River and The Stamps Quartet. The group not only travels and sings, promotes gospel music concerts. The trio has released 10 recordings, with the latest, "God's in Control." They are founding members of the Four States Gospel Music Association along with RDH Promotions.

Also appearing will be Then Came Sunday of Hope. The group was formed in 2014 by members James Gibbs, Mark Hall and Sohn McLean. They have performed at churches, revivals and private events, and with artists such as the Easters and The Nelons. Their style of music is basically what they grew up on ... Southern gospel music with a live feel. In addition to their vocals, their live band features piano, bass guitar and drums.

The Hawkins Family will appear as the host group. This Hot Springs family celebrates 58 years in gospel music ministry this year. They began a series of concerts in 1980s at Arlington Park in Hot Springs and in 1987 opened their own park just off Highway 7 north.

The outdoor amphitheater seats 500 guests. A refreshment stand is located on the premises. The park is "kid friendly" for people from 2 to 92. Restrooms available. Parking and admission are free. Bring lawn chairs or blankets for seating in the outdoor amphitheater. Call Lou Tabor, 623-8068, for information or directions.
