Pay your taxes, or else

Dear editor:

It amazes me that people like Al Sharpton, who reportedly owes millions of dollars in "back taxes" to the Internal Revenue Services, walks about freely without any concerns and even visits occasionally with the president in the Oval Office.

Also, you will recall that Bill Clinton, before leaving office in 2000, gave a pardon to Marc Rich, who had left the country before he was indicted or tried for income tax evasion involving millions of dollars. Now he is free to return to this country at any time without having any consequences!

Also, it has been reported that there are many employees of the Internal Revenue Service who continue to owe back taxes, without any consequences?

If you or I owed $100 or more to the IRS, we would have our wages garnished, our homes foreclosed, our bank accounts attached and our retirement accounts confiscated until our taxes were fully paid.

For some, if you are "politically connected," you just go about your merry way. For the rest of us, we pay our taxes or else!
