HOT SPRINGS VILLAGE -- Members of the Celebrate America Rally Committee recently met to finalize plans for the community event, taking place Sunday in the Balboa Pavilion, 476 Ponce de Leon Drive.

The rally will begin with a meet and greet at 4:30 p.m., followed by opening ceremonies. Dinner will be served at 5:30 p.m., and included will be hamburgers, bratwurst, potato salad, baked beans and dessert. Iced tea, water, beer, wine and sodas will also be available.

Among the guests will be state officers, an Arkansas senator and representatives, and officials from both Garland and Saline counties. Special guest Melanie Herrmann will lead singing of the national anthem, following presentation of the colors by the VFW Color Guard, and the Pledge of Allegiance. State Sen. Bill Sample, R-District 14, will give the invocation.

The evening's master of ceremonies, Saline County Justice of the Peace James Zahnd, will introduce the rally's key speakers: U.S. Sen. John Boozman, R-Ark., U.S. Rep. French Hill, R-District 2, U.S. Rep. Bruce Westerman, R-District 4, Arkansas Attorney General Leslie Rutledge and Arkansas GOP Chairman Doyle Webb.

Guests will be able to pick up voter registration forms, copies of the U.S. Constitution, Second Amendment pamphlets, ballot issue information, and suggestions on how to get involved with the political process.
